Below are details on the major open competitions of the year on the Ardeer Golf Club calendar. For each competition you will find the date, cost, a picture of the trophy you play for and some other additional information on each competition.
Golf Week
From Monday 26th- Friday 30th July 2010
This event provides a week of competitive golf at the price of £30. Monday 26th & Tuesday 27th are 18 hole strokeplay competitions where the top 8 players in 4 different categories qualify for the matchplay knockout stages on Thursday & Friday. Categories are 1st class scratch, 1st class handicap, 2nd class scratch & 2nd class handicap.
Wednesday 28th is a 3 man Texas Scramble. (if not playing in the golf week you can enter a team into the competition at £15 per team).
Thursday 29th Knockout Match play, additional comp for those not qualifying Monday/Tuesday 2 man stableford, combined net scores.
Friday 30th Match Play Finals, additional comp for those not qualifying, Consolation Cup. Prizes for all winners. Prize fund in the region of £2500.
MacGilchrist Cup Open Competition
Saturday 19th June 2010
This open is restricted to players with a handicap of 18 or less. The competition is 18 holes strokeplay and the Cup is awarded to the best nett score. Prize vouchers are awarded for second and third and for the best Scratch score. Entry fee is £10.
Ladies Open Tri-Am
Thursday 6th May 2010
The competition is for ladies in teams of three and the cost is £18 per team.
Please apply to Ladies Secretary and enclose cheque and SAE by 25th April.
Senior Open
Tuesday 15th June 2010
The competition is open to players aged 55 and over and is played over 18 holes strokeplay. Prizes are awarded in age categories 55 - 62, 63 - 68 and 69 and over. The cost is £8 and entries to the Senior convenor, accompanied by a stamped addressed envelope should be submitted by 10 June.
Junior Open - G. Ferguson Trophy
Tuesday 20th July 2010 The competition for the Gareth Ferguson trophy is open to boys aged 18 and under with a handicap limit of 24. The event counts for Ayrshire Junior merit points. Entry fee is £5.
